Training for Preventizers – “Think! – Don’t Hate – Preventing and Countering Hate Speech”
Last week, from 18th to 25th in Vrnjačka Banja, Serbia, Kosova Young Lawyers (KYL) together with its partners organized the first training within the project “Think! Don’t hate – Preventing and Countering Hate Speech”. The main goal of the project is to fight hate speech in the online world by deconstructing and discrediting the narratives on which it is based, as well as by empowering young people to become the leaders in the fight against fake news, prejudice and hatred on the Internet.
Young people and youth workers from Greece, Montenegro, Serbia, North Macedonia and Kosovo gathered together and were trained on knowledge and skills for utilising critical thinking in fighting online hate speech. They also worked on the development of innovative “Preventizer” curriculum and have prepared series of workshops for preventing hate speech in their local communities.
The project “Think! Don’t hate – Preventing and Countering Hate Speech” is implemented by Kosova Young Lawyers – KYL and run in coordination with its five partners together with Syllogos Apofiton Ekpedeftirion Mandoulidi (EL), Nevladino Udruzenje Prima (ME), Connect International (BE), Udruzenje Gradana Libero (RS) and Zdruzenie Za Kulturna Sorabotka Interkultura Skopje (MK).
This project is supported by the Erasmus + Programme of the European Union.
